Thrashers Recall Forward Jordan LaVallee from Chicago (AHL);
Reassign Forward Joe Motzko to the Wolves

LaVallee, 22, has recorded 23 points (15 goals, eight assists) and 44 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Wolves this season. He ranks second on the team in goals and is tied for the team lead in shorthanded goals (three). In his last eight games with Chicago, he has recorded six goals and 23 shots.
Last season, the 6-3, 220-pound left wing made his NHL debut with the Thrashers, appearing in two games while recording his first NHL goal and assist on April 1 against Florida. He also appeared in 76 games for the Wolves in 2007-08, earning 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) while helping Chicago capture the Calder Cup Championship.
The Corvallis, Oregon, native has recorded 99 points (51 goals, 48 assists) and 207 penalty minutes in 201 games over three seasons with the Wolves. He has also appeared in 28 career playoff games for the Wolves, recording 16 points (10 goals, six assists) in two playoff seasons.
LaVallee was originally selected by the Thrashers in fourth round, 113th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to his professional career, he spent four seasons with Quebec of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, recording 139 points (72 goals, 67 assists) in 225 games from 2002-03 to 2005-06. During his last season with the Remparts, he guided Quebec to the Canadian Hockey League’s Memorial Cup Championship.
Motzko, 28, appeared in six games with the Thrashers, recording one goal, since being recalled from the Wolves on Jan. 30. The Bemidji, Minn., native has recorded 43 points (24 goals, 19 assists) in 47 games for Chicago this season.
The 6-0, 200-pound forward has played in 459 career AHL games, tallying 346 points (151 goals, 195 assists) and 319 penalty minutes with Chicago, Hershey and Syracuse. He has posted six points (four goals, two assists) in 25 career NHL regular-season games with Washington, Columbus and Atlanta. Motzko also appeared in three playoff games with Anaheim during the 2007 post-season, helping the Ducks capture the Stanley Cup.
