Thrashers Claim Forward Rich Peverley Off Waivers From Nashville
The Atlanta Thrashers have claimed forward Rich Peverley off waivers from the Nashville Predators, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell.
Peverley, 26, has appeared in 27 games this season with Nashville, recording nine points (two goals, seven assists). He earned a season-high two assists on Oct. 15 at Dallas and posted a three-game point streak from Oct. 15-18, tallying four points (one goal, three assists) during that span.
The 6-0, 185-pound center has seen action in 73 career games over the last three seasons with the Predators, tallying 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists). He also recorded two assists in six Stanley Cup Playoff games with Nashville in 2007-08.
Peverley has also recorded 168 points (56 goals, 112 assists) in 177 career games in the American Hockey League with Milwaukee and Portland, adding 73 points (34 goals, 39 assists) in 80 ECHL games with South Carolina and Reading.
Prior to his professional career, the Guelph, Ontario native spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University (ECAC) from 2000-04. He appeared in 138 career games with the Saints, totaling 117 points (44 goals, 73 assists).
Peverley was signed as a free agent by Nashville on Jan. 18, 2007.
